VVCR’s Clip & Post works hand in hand with DVR. It allows you to trim recordings into downloadable clips.
You can clip either a Completed DVR Recording or an Active DVR Recording. The clipping feature works the same in both scenarios.
Creating a Clip
Go to the Clip & Post tab and click Create a Clip.
Give the clip a Name. Click on the Clip Source dropdown menu and select a recording.
A preview window of the recording will appear. You can scrub through the clip by Seconds or Frames. Press the Bracket Keys to set an In and Out point.
Please note that while you can scrub through each frame of a clip, the in and out points will align with the nearest I-frame of the recording’s GOP structure for any stream recorded in H.264 or H.265 CODEC. Consequently, the GOP structure of your SRT encoder will determine the frequency of these I-frames.
The Start and End points of the clip are displayed to the right of the preview window. Press Save.
It may take a few seconds for the clip to process.
Once it's done, it will say Completed Successfully.
Press the Play icon to preview the clip.
Click the Download icon to download the clip.
You can also preview the original recording and the clip by clicking on the Open in NewTab icon under the Source and Output columns.
You can also copy the Clip URL and share it with others to view.
