DVR allows you to record VVCR streams in the cloud. There must be an active stream before you can create a DVR recording. Recordings are stored inside a VVCR-created AWS S3 bucket inside your connected AWS account, but can be accessed entirely through the VVCR web interface.
Starting a DVR Recording
Click on the DVR tab and select Add New Recording.
Click on the Stream Name dropdown menu and select a stream.
The Start Recording menu will appear. It displays the Stream Name, Cluster, Cluster Type, and File Name.
VVCR automatically generates a File Name in the following template: “StreamName-Cluster-Encoder-Date-StartTime”
You can change it by clicking in the File Name box and typing in the new name.
Press Start to start the recording.
The status will display Recording Starting for a few seconds.
The status will switch to a flashing red light while the DVR is actively recording.
The menu displays the Source name, the File Name, the recording’s Duration, and the Created On date.
Click on the Stop button to end the recording.
A pop-up will appear to confirm you want to stop the recording. Click Ok to stop it or click Cancel.
The status will switch to display the completion progress. The longer the recording, the longer it may take to complete.
When the recording is completed, the Status will turn green, and the Duration will display the final duration time of the recording.
Click on the Play icon to open a preview of the recording.
Press the Download icon to download the recording.
Click on the Open In New Tab icon to open the recording in a new window.
You can also copy the URL and share it with others to view. Just copy the Recording URL and paste it into a web browser.
Click on the Delete icon to delete the recording.
A pop-up will appear to confirm you want to delete the recording and if you want to delete the recording from your AWS S3 Bucket. Click Ok to delete it, check the Delete from S3 box to remove it from your S3 bucket, or click Cancel.
