To get started, go to the Production Tab and click Add vMix Instance.
Give the Instance a Name.
Then select a Cluster to link it to. You need to link it to a cluster with transcoding enabled to utilize NDI inputs. If you just want a cloud machine to work on, select None.
Select an Instance Family, then select an Instance Type. Read the Instance Type descriptions to pick the best size based on your workflow.
VVCR will generate an Instance Password for you. Otherwise, you can click into the window and add your own. Click on the Regenerate Password icon to have VVCR create a new password. The Username will always be Administrator.
If you want to have additional storage on your virtual machine, check the Attach Additional Storage box and type in how much storage you want to add.
Press Save.
It will take a few minutes for the Production Instance to start up. The status will say Launching while it’s turning on.
Once the instance is ready, the status will turn to Active, and VVCR will display the Hostname and IP Address for the instance.
Your instance comes pre-installed with NDI Tools, vMix, Companion, and Adobe Creative Cloud. Note: You will need to provide your own licenses for vMix and the Creative Cloud account.
If your cluster has NDI Transcoding enabled, you can access VVCR streams through NDI Studio Monitor and vMix.
To stop the instance, return to the Production Tab of VVCR and click the Stop button. Remember to stop the instance when you are done for the day, as charges apply for every hour it runs.
Stopping the instance is like shutting down a computer; all your files will remain saved until you delete the instance.
To delete the instance, go to the Production Instance menu and click the Trash Can icon.
If you ever get an error trying to Start or Stop your cluster, click on the Refresh icon. If this doesn’t solve the problem, contact support.
