Captions have always been able to pass through to supported platforms through normal destinations. But after the latest VVCR updates, captions are now able to pass through with transcoded destinations as well.
To start, you need a cluster with transcoding enabled.
Go to the Clusters tab and click Add New Cluster.
Give the cluster a Name, select an Instance Type, and select a Region.
Click on the check box next to Use Transcoding.
Now you need to send a stream with captions to VVCR.
You can check to make sure the stream is receiving captions by checking the HLS output.
Just copy the HLS address, open Quicktime Player, select Open Location, and paste in the address.
Make sure you have captions enabled on the player.
Now we can go to the Destinations tab and click Add New Destination.
Give the Destination a Name.
Click on the Stream Name dropdown and select the stream you want to push to the destination.
Adjust the Stream Cluster, Stream Encoder, and Audio Track if needed.
Select an Output Type.
Add an Encoder Address or Stream URL and Stream Key.
Select an Authorization Schema if needed.
Check the box next to Enable Transcoding.
Click on the Resolution dropdown menu and select a new resolution for the output.
Press Save.
Now to your Destination and you should see your captions and your stream in the new resolution!
