Instagram Live Produces allows you to stream to Instagram via RTMP protocol.
Live Producer is only available for Instagram Business accounts. Click here to learn how to switch to an Instagram Business account
To start, go to the Stream tab and click Add New Streams.
Give the stream a name and select the necessary input type. In this scenario, we are taking in an RTMP stream from vMix since it has a built-in 9x16 aspect ratio crop. But you can select whichever input type your encoder requires.
Open vMix, and click on the cogwheel next to the Stream button.
Then click on the cogwheel to the right of the Quality section.
Click on the Aspect Ratio / Crop dropdown menu and select Vertical 9:16.
Copy the Stream URL and Stream Key from VVCR and paste them into vMix.
Start the vMix stream and go back to VVCR.
Select the stream and click on the Outputs tab.
Scroll down and click Preview.
You’ll see that vMix automatically cropped your stream to a 9:16 aspect ratio.
Go to the Destinations tab and click Add New Destination.
Give the Destination a name, select your stream, and set the Output Type to RTMP Push.
Open Instagram on a computer.
Click on the Create icon.
Select Live Video.
Add a title for the stream.
Click on the Audience dropdown menu to set visibility.
Public will broadcast the stream to your followers just like a normal live stream. Practice sets it to a private stream.
Select a visibility option then click Next.
Copy the Stream URL and Stream Key and paste them into VVCR.
Once you start streaming from VVCR you will see the stream appear in the preview window on the left of the menu.
Click Go Live at the top right corner of the menu to start your stream.
The Comment tab will display any comments posted on the live stream.
The Event Log tab will display stream statistics and stream events and metrics.
