VVCR now has the ability to stop and restart your clusters - allowing you to keep your cloud workflow while limiting your AWS fees.
When a cluster is stopped, it will halt everything linked to that cluster, like streams, destinations, and production modules.
Stopping Clusters:
Click on the Stop icon next to the Delete icon to stop the cluster.
It will take a minute or two to fully stop the cluster.
While the cluster is stopped, all streams, destinations, and production modules will be grayed out.
You will not be able to see details, delete, or edit anything.
You will also not be able to create any new Streams, Destinations, Multiviews, DVR Recordings, Clips, or Production Modules.
You will be able to view existing Multiviews but the Preview Screens will be empty.
And you can preview DVR Recordings and Clips, however, you will not be able to create any new Recordings or Clips.
The menu will only display active streams if you have other active clusters running.
Go back to the cluster tab and click on the Start icon to restart the cluster.
VVCR will generate new IP addresses for everything in the cluster unless you enabled Persistent IP in the cluster creation menu.
Persistent IP Addresses:
When creating new clusters, you are now able to enable Persistent IP Addresses to keep the same IP addresses after stopping and starting the cluster.
If you don’t enable this, VVCR will generate new IP addresses every time you restart the cluster.
Click on the check box next to Use Persistent IP address in the cluster creation menu.
You have a limited number of addresses per region. This is determined by the number of elastic IP addresses enabled on your AWS account.
The number of available addresses in the selected region is displayed to the right of the checkbox.
Then if you stop and start your cluster, you shouldn’t have to reconnect any Streams.
